Whether you're a longtime local or just visiting, John's Gyros is a must-try for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Mediterranean food.

The first thing you’ll notice when you step inside is the welcoming vibe. It’s a small, unpretentious spot, but that’s what makes it feel like home. They’re happy to guide you through the menu and even share a bit about the restaurant’s history if you’re curious. This personal touch goes a long way in creating a memorable dining experience.

As for the food, John's Gyros offers a range of Mediterranean staples that never disappoint. The signature dish, of course, is their gyros. Made with perfectly seasoned meat, thinly sliced and served on warm pita bread, the gyros are topped with fresh veggies like tomatoes, onions, and lettuce, all drizzled with creamy tzatziki sauce. The combination of savory and tangy flavors makes each bite pure perfection. Whether you go for the classic lamb or chicken gyro, you’ll leave with your taste buds satisfied and your hunger fully satisfied.

If you’re in the mood for something different, you’ll find a variety of other Greek-inspired dishes on the menu. From falafel to souvlaki, everything is cooked fresh and bursting with flavor. The Greek salad is another fan favorite-crisp vegetables, olives, feta cheese, and a light dressing. It’s the perfect side to balance out the richness of the gyros or to enjoy on its own as a lighter option.

What sets John's Gyros apart from other restaurants is their commitment to using quality ingredients. They source their meats carefully, and it’s clear that the attention to detail shines through in every dish. The pita bread is soft and fluffy, while the tzatziki is made fresh, providing that cool, herby kick that perfectly complements the meat. You can tell that the recipes have been honed over time, and the results speak for themselves.

  • So peaceful here and the food is to DIE for. I've never had such good humis and these gyros are amazing!

  • This Gyro magic kingdom in a little old house on the corner of Orange and Alston in Foley, AL is worth finding. Best Gyro I've ever had. You might have to wait a minute because they have a small, old fashioned kitchen and lots of customers, but it will be worth the wait, I promise. And, even the fries were to die for! Don't know what seasoning he sprinkled on them, but it worked!

  • Best gyros in the south! Having searched everywhere down here for a decent gyro, I stumbled upon this place by accident to find that it is authentic and delicious! Up til now I only saw gyros on a menu at Arby's and those are just RIDICULOUS. But these gyros are delightful! The tzatziki sauce was light yet flavorful and the lamb was perfectly seasoned and cooked to the absolute best point of juicy, tender and tasty. The pits was warm. And it was made very quickly, so no long wait for your order. Eat in or to- go option. I will be back. Often!

  • What a hidden gem! This family-run restaurant has become one of my favorites. The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting, with a real personal touch. You can tell the owners put so much care and passion into every dish. This place truly feels like home, and I can't wait to come back!

  • A small hole in the wall a friend pointed me too. The building is admittedly old and the inside is a bit unorganized, but don't let that hold you back from one of the best gyro's I've ever had. Drinks look to only be available in a can with limited choice so maybe bring your own drink if you don't want to roll the dice. The staff was really nice, would recommend checking it out if you have a hankering for a gyro!

  • I'd never been to this place before or even heard of it until today, but I'm definitely going to be a regular from now on. WOW everything he serves is just amazing! Do make sure to try the stuffed grape leaves! And the guy who runs the place is truly one of the most charming gentlemen I've had the pleasure of meeting. I'd give 10 stars if I could.
